Amaze your family and friends with some St. Patrick's Day facts. Did you know that the first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland, but Boston in the year 1737? Nine of the people singing the Declaration of Independence were of Irish origin. Did you know that for every 1 lucky four-leaf clover found there are 10,000 regular three-leaf clovers? The Irish flag is green, orange, and white. Green represents the people of the south, orange represents the people of the north, and white represents the peace that brings them together. Did you know that every year, the Chicago River is dyed green using 40 pounds of green vegetable dye. Funny, since the original color associated to St. Patrick's Day was blue. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
